WHAT WE BUILD

Digital Platforms

Web and mobile systems that carry the day-to-day work of a business, built for a customer who will own them and decide who operates them.

What we mean by platform

A digital platform is the system a business runs on, not a single application. It holds the accounts and permissions, the data model, the workflows that move work through the organisation, the connections to systems already in place, and the interfaces that staff and customers touch. We build that whole system, not a front end over an unresolved back end.

This is a system built for a customer who will own and operate it, which is a different arrangement from subscribing to a platform we already run, covered under SaaS Products, and from a single tool fitted to one process, covered under Custom Technology. The same discipline sits behind our own products. Running software we are accountable for is what shapes the method described here, because the decisions we make in a build are decisions we then live with.

What the work covers

Scope is set per engagement, but a platform build normally covers the same ground. We start from the data model, because its shape sets the limits on what the interfaces and integrations can do later. Where a customer carries regulatory obligations, data handling is designed against those obligations rather than added afterwards.

  • Architecture and data model: service boundaries, storage choices, and how the system grows
  • Application build: web and mobile interfaces, the services behind them, and their APIs
  • Identity and access: authentication, roles and permissions, tenant separation, and audit trails
  • Integration with the payment, messaging, mapping, accounting and operational systems already in use
  • Infrastructure and delivery: environments, deployment pipelines, monitoring, alerting, logging, backup and recovery
  • Security practice: encryption of data in transit and, where appropriate, at rest; least privilege access; code review

How a build proceeds

The process runs Discover, Design, Build, Launch, Scale, and each stage ends in a document or a build a customer can review. Discover establishes the operating reality: who uses the system, what it must connect to, and which constraints are fixed. Design settles the architecture, the data model and the interfaces before code is written, so disagreements surface on paper instead of in production.

Build proceeds in working increments against that design, with code review, automated tests and a deployment path exercised well before launch day. Launch covers migration of existing data, cutover, and close monitoring through the period that follows. Scale is the work after that: tuning under production load, extending the platform as the business changes, and correcting what live use exposes.

What is delivered

Handover ends in a choice. A customer can take the platform over and run it in house, or ask us to keep operating, monitoring and extending it. Rights in the source code, licensing, hosting and support are set out in the applicable order form or statement of work, and both arrangements are recorded in that same document.

Either way the same material changes hands: the running platform, the data model and schema, environment and deployment configuration, and documentation covering how the system is assembled and how it is run. Training goes with it, covering user and permission administration, the configuration a customer can change without us, how a deployment is run, and where logs and alerts are found.

Scoping a platform build

The first step is a conversation about what the platform has to do, and what it has to replace or connect to. From that we prepare a written scope covering the proposed architecture, the stages of work, and the commercial basis. The scope names what each stage excludes as plainly as what it includes, so the boundary of the work is visible before it starts.

Jebrex Tech, S.L. works from a registered office in Barcelona, Spain, and a second location in Beirut, Lebanon. Write to hello@jebrex.com with a short description of the platform you have in mind, the systems it would need to work with, and any regulatory or operational constraints that apply. We reply with the questions we need answered before we can scope it.
